This is not for every one. Well if you are history buff or architect or historic building enthusiast you might want to take a look at this institution.

This was the first University in the Australia and New Zealand. It was established in 1851. When it started it began with just the Faculty of Arts. 1890’s saw the University expand rapidly offering courses in Medicine, Law and Science. The early 1900 saw faculty of Dentistry, Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, Veterinary Science and Economics being added. Today the University has almost all the fields of study Medicine, Law, Nursing, Architecture, Arts, IT, Engineering, Science and many more.

University of Sydney ranks among the Top 40 in the world. The Alumina are well known names like Prime Ministers Sir Edmund Barton, Sir William McMahon, Gough Whitlam and John Howard and Ambassador to US Dennis Richardson among several others.

Today the University has a mix of modern, contemporary and the old historic buildings. Here is the list of building that you might want to take a look,

Historic Buildings

The Quadrangle – An enclosure between four sides of historic building. It encompasses class rooms, huge halls and the convocation hall.

The MacLaurin Hall – Part of one of the wings of the Quarangle and is used for smaller gatherings.

Seymour Theatre – Has world cinema and theatre acts and musicals.

Tin Shed Gallery + Art Workshop – Design studio for artist and also serves as a exhibition center for their work.
